This is your life.
The first thing we need to do is find out about you. Why are you investing? Are you saving to send your children to college or taking care of an elderly parent? Approaching retirement? Investment needs can vary greatly depending on where you are in life.
The process we use is designed to help us know what to recommend to you. In addition to having a conversation with you about where you are and where you are going in your life, we go through the following steps:
Assessment of your goals.
We値l talk to you about when you would like to retire, and how much income you値l need to continue living your life the way you want. We値l ask you about future expenses, sources of income, how much debt you have, and other questions that will help define where you want to go.
What are your current assets?
We値l look at how you are invested now擁ndividual stocks, mutual funds, CDs, municipal bonds, 401(k), IRA, and any other assets. This is the starting point. We値l also ask you how much you are saving each year, and how that might change in the future. Also, are you expecting an inheritance, sale of property or your business, or other addition to your investment portfolio?
We will develop an investment design for you.
This will be based on your age, your goals, your current assets (and debts), and your life experiences. Controlling the amount of risk you take is very important. We'll recommend the appropriate amounts to have in stocks, bonds, and cash. We will also recommend the percent you should have in large, mid, and small cap U.S. stocks, as well as international and emerging markets stocks. To achieve a high degree of diversification, we use low cost Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs), or in smaller accounts, no load mutual funds to invest in stocks.
Putting the plan into action.
After you agree that our recommendations make sense for you, we will help you set up or transfer your accounts to our custodian. We have selected Charles Schwab & Co, Inc as the primary custodian for our clients. We will implement the investment design for you, and continuously monitor it.
Ongoing reviews.
Each quarter we will send you a performance report on your accounts. This is in addition to statements you will receive from the custodian of your account. At least twice a year (and more often if you prefer) we will review everything with you - any changes in your life, your profession or business, or your goals, as well as how your portfolio is doing. We will discuss any changes that would be beneficial to you. We always welcome feedback from you on how we can improve your investing experience.
We welcome your inquiry, and promise not to pressure you if you ask for more information. Choosing an investment advisor is a big decision. We respect your right to explore what would be best for you. Contact Us >>
